The park of the “Sorgara” is an evocative place where the ferruginous waters of the Rio Petra flow, always appreciated for their important therapeutic properties.
It was 1924 when a new hydropinic facility was inaugurated in Sorgara, which used three different types of mineral waters called “Salutare”, “Gigliola” and “Ferruginosa”. The springs were discovered by Michele Savelli, a citizen of Modigliana living in Castrocaro who, with enthusiasm, since 1919 had dedicated himself to the research of this ancient and abandoned aquifer.
