Parco della Sorgara
The place where the waters of the Rio Petra
The park of the "Sorgara" is an evocative place where the ferruginous waters of the Rio Petra flow, always appreciated for their important therapeutic properties.
It was 1924 when a new hydropinic facility was inaugurated in Sorgara, which used three different types of mineral waters called "Salutare", "Gigliola" and "Ferruginosa". The springs were discovered by Michele Savelli, a citizen of Modigliana living in Castrocaro who, with enthusiasm, since 1919 had dedicated himself to the research of this ancient and abandoned aquifer.
