Abbazia di Santa Reparata

MARRADICHURCHES
An ancient Benedictine Abbey
Badia di Santa Reparata, also known as Badia di Marradi, has been documented as a Benedictine community since 1025. Only parts of the Romanesque walls and the mighty bell tower remain of the original church.

Today, the paintings that the Maestro di Marradi, a painter formed next to Ghirlandaio, realized for the abbey are kept in the church of San Lorenzo, also in Marradi. Instead the works of the painter of Antonio Fanzaresi are still visible in the interiors of the abbey.
