The Via Damianea traces the footsteps of San Pier Damiani, in particular his last trip from Ravenna to the hermitage of Gamogna. The path of faith and reflection in the footsteps of the Saint, is made up of different stages that, in addition to a spiritual experience, allow you to enjoy the beauties of nature and good food. The length of the journey is about 80 km and is easy to travel.
The planned stops are: Ponte San Donato, Badia della Valle, eremo di Gamogna.
At Ponte San Donato passes the road that led from Faenza to Florence. The small village is characterized by the so-called Lady’s bridge, by two mills, a church and the hospice of the monks where San Pier Damiani lived. In Badia della Valle, instead, there is the ancient crypt of the monastery, while at the Eremo di Gamogna it is possible to eat according to the monastic tradition.
