Once upon a time… guided tour
In the afternoon of the Epiphany, the Praetorian Palace of Terra del Sole will host a guided tour conceived and conducted by Chiara Macherozzi, tourist guide of the Emilia-Romagna Region, inside the Museum of Man and Environment, to discover and rediscover customs and customs, ancient beliefs, rites and traditions, between the Sacred and the Magical, throughout the cycle of the Year – and especially in relation to the period from Christmas to the Epiphany – and also, in the evocative context of the Festival of Cribs, to the discovery and rediscovery of the Crib and its meanings.
Starting from the farmyard, visitors will make a journey through time, in the Casa del Contadino Romagnolo more a century ago, passing by the large fireplace – the frame of the sacred home hearth -, the table set, the cupboard of woodland to the grain bin, to the stone sink, to the wrought iron bed, “padded” with corn leaves and heated with “the priest and the nun”, entering, then, in the stable and going down, later, in the cellar.
A journey through the life of the Romagna Countryside of the past, which will end in front of the manger where the Child Jesus is placed, between the Ox and the Donkey, with a special focus on the history and symbolism of the Crib.
