The Botanical Garden of Valbonella is divided into three paths: forest, wetlands and prairies. To these paths then there is an area prepared for medicinal plants and a garden dedicated to butterflies in which shrubs have been planted that attract the fluttering colorful insects. The wooden building, which is located in the garden, houses the information point and a collection of wood species with small herbarium. Outside there are 3 picnic areas, 2 fornacelle, public baths and a covered fountain with awning.
The project related to the botanical garden was conceived and implemented by the Emilia-Romagna Region with the participation of the State Forestry Corps. The structure has been active since the 80s and aims to enhance the area and its environmental heritage.
