From Marradi to Verna with Dino Campana

MARRADIITINERARIES-ART AND HISTORY
The route tackled by the great poet on the Apennine ridge

The poet Dino Campana, after a long period of wandering between Bologna, Florence, Paris and Argentina, decides, in 1910, returning to Marradi, his hometown. The famous pilgrimage, from Marradi to Verna, dates from that year. The Bell pellegrino writes down the details for this long crossing on foot, thus creating a “Guide” and, at the same time, full of poetry.

Retrace your steps addressed by the great poet means moving mostly on the main ridge of the Apennines, between Romagna and Tuscany in environments with a strong naturalistic charm. The path, described with involvement in the Canti Orfici, includes the following stages: Marradi-le Scalelle-Castagno D’Andrea-Falterona-Campigna-Stia-La Verna and return.

A good part of the route takes place inside the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi Monte Falterona e Campigna and ends touching the hermitages of Camaldoli and La Verna.
