Public park Carlo Alberto Cappelli

ROCCA SAN CASCIANOPARKS AND GARDENS
Once used by the Friars of the Convent

The Public Park Carlo Alberto Cappelli is a real green lung in the center of the country. In the past the area was used by the friars of the local Franciscan Convent as a vegetable garden to cultivate everything they needed.

Today the Bosco (so called by the Rocchigiani), named after the illustrious Citizen Carlo Alberto Cappelli (Superintendent of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and later the Arena of Verona), is used both as a meeting place and as a place for sporting activities.

Inside the same are in fact present:

the Municipal Swimming Pool (open only in summer) which has n. 2 pools, beach-volleyball courts and rackets and a small bar overlooking the terrace of the building.
children’s play area;
multipurpose football/basketball pitch for free use;
multi-purpose tennis/soccer pitch in acrylic resin managed by the U. S. Sportiva Rocchigiana;
“life path” consisting of gymnastic equipment and a castle calisthenics;
changing rooms with WC. Finally, there is the multipurpose room “Ex Colonia Fluviale” used for cultural and aggregative events.
