A journey from the elevated historical-cultural value that concerns the enchanting medieval village of Castrocaro Terme. The departure is in front of the entrance to the Baths, from here you reach Piazza Mazzini and continue along Via delle Sorgenti and Via della Fratta. Then begins Via Bagnolo and the road begins to rise along the ancient walls and the Fortress.
After having covered 1 Km. And just after the deposit of the aqueduct, turn left and go down a slightly bumpy path. 100 meters on the right you can see the remains of the ancient tower that defended the Porta dell’Olmo while on the left there is the imposing male (the oldest tower of the fortress). Continue for another 100 meters and start the paved road that leads into the historic center where you can admire the Porta di S. Giovanni the Bell Tower and at the end of Via Porta dell’Olmo – on the left side – the Palazzo dei Commissari. Proceeding to the right along Via S. Antonio you pass near the ancient church of S. Nicolò. Beyond the door of the same name, on the left on the external façade of the church, is the Dante tombstone.
Continue to Via Garibaldi to return to the entrance of the Baths.
