Opportunities and development strategies for the Romagna Toscana destination – round table
On 4 March 2022 the “Padiglione delle Feste” of the Castrocaro Spa Complex hosted the Round Table dedicated to the first Italian tourism system between two regions. It is possible to follow the event on live streaming.
The point of view of researchers, industry professionals and public and private operators will be compared on topics such as the Opportunities and the development strategies for the Romagna Toscana destination.
The Round Table will start with the greetings from Lucia Magnani, of the Health Clinic Long Formula, and Marianna Tonellato, the Mayor of “Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole“.
The meeting, organized by SISTUR, the Italian Society of Tourism Sciences, along with Romagna Toscana Turismo, intends to open a channel of communication on the territory with the local administrations.
The comparison between the case studies reported by the experts of SISTUR and the stakeholders will be an opportunity for dialogue and meditation on the opportunities and weaknesses of the tourism nowadays in relation to the situation of the Municipalities of our territory: Bagno di Romagna, Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole, Dovadola, Firenzuola, Galeata, Marradi, Modigliana, Palazzuolo sul Senio, Portico e San Benedetto, Premilcuore, Rocca San Casciano, Santa Sofia, Sarsina, Tredozio, Verghereto.
We will talk about “wellness tourism” with Emilio Becheri (Rivista Turistica) and about “PNRR and new opportunities for the territories” with Fabrizio Antolini, the president of SISTUR (University of Teramo). Then Lucia Varra (University of Florence) will explain the case study of the Abetone Tourist Observatory. Fiorella Dallari (University of Bologna) will talk about “slow movement” and the paths of Europe, while Francesco Brigante, the president of San Marino Destination, will bring up his experience of the mixed system between public and private of the Republic of San Marino.
Doctor Claudio Rossi, an expert in tourism marketing and the SISTUR delegate for Emilia-Romagna, will moderate the first part of the meeting.
The second part of the morning will be dedicated to the first Italian tourism system between two regions.
Liviana Zanetti, the president of the Association of the Municipalities for the Tourist Promotion of the Romagna Toscana will speak of the first two years of work of the association, formed in January 2020. After that, Luigi Barilari (Consorzio Castrumcari) will update us with the latest news on the “Cycle Route of the Romagna Toscana” related to the evolution of cycling tourism. Mariavittoria Ponzanelli (F.technology srl), responsible for the management and the support of the Romagna Toscana project and co-moderator of the second part of the conference, will present the work carried out from August to December 2021 along with the delegates of the Municipalities.
We asked the administrators to talk about the polocies of promotion of the territory. The following projects for the promotion of the territory will be presented by the Municipalities:
“Tredozio: Maria Virginia Fabroni project” presented by Simona Vietina, the Mayor of Tredozio, along with Lorenzo Bosi, the Deputy Mayor of Tredozio.
- “The importance of teamwork in the promotion of the territory” presented by Claudia Cappelli, city councilor of Portico and San Benedetto.
- “Sentieri Agrourbani” presented by Rosa Grasso, the Councilor for Tourism of Modigliana.
- “Palazzuolando, an innovation for the tourist offer” presented by Giada Pieri and Valeria Cavini (CIA – Culture, Innovation and Environment) from Palazzuolo sul Senio.
- “Goal: Stable Tourism” presented by Francesco Guidarelli, the Deputy Mayor of Firenzuola.
- “Tourism in the inland areas: from the Dante’s Train experience to the daily connections” presented by Tommaso Triberti, the Mayor of Marradi, and Francesca Farolfi, Councilor of Marradi.
- “Change your life Project” presented by Vincenzo Buongiorno from Rocca San Casciano.
- “Val di Bagno Trek” (Bagno di Romagna), “local landscape Observatory of the Ronco Bidente Valley”, “The Savio Valley: and experience to live”.
The second part of the meeting is closed by the architect Laura Calderoni, director of the Festival Open House Roma – the festival brings thousands of people every year to discover the most beautiful places of Rome with new and original proposals – with a consideration on the link between Culture and Tourism.
The Round Table will end with a debate open to the public.
