Itinerary Crinali-Converselle-Monte Poggiolo

CASTROCARO TERME E TERRA DEL SOLEITINERARIES-NATURE
Discovering important historical sites

A route that allows you to admire several historic sites, home to important events that date back to the 1800s as the Vecchia Fornace dei laterzi and the Palazzo del Diavolo, and which, once you reach the ruins of the Castello di Monte Poggiolo, allows you to enjoy a magnificent landscape . From the Terme entrance you reach Piazza Mazzini, then follow Via delle Sorgenti up to the bridge near the old brick kiln. At the junction, beyond the bridge, turn left into Via Rio Cozzi and continue along this asphalted valley road (which later becomes Via Converselle), which runs along the Rio del Piano to the junction of the Casacce, signaled by a special sign. At the junction of the Casacce the asphalted road (on the right) goes up that climbs the coast of Converselle with hairpin bends, up to the top of the hill, where stands the church of Converselle, identifiable for the small bell gable.

Around the building a large lawn allows a comfortable stop. From the church of Converselle you retrace your steps for about 100 meters and then take the gravel road that leads to Monte Poggiolo following the directions on the path. Further on the road surface becomes a dirt road. You continue on the road from the ridge to ups and downs among cultivated fields, orchards and vineyards, with wide views over the Forlì plain, up to the castle of Monte Poggiolo. From here we descend along the asphalt road towards the valley bottom. Before reaching the floor, on the right, not far from the road that runs, there is an ancient rural house, called Palazzo del Diavolo. At the junction, at the end of the descent, turn right into Via Mercatina and then follow Via Cesare Battisti until you reach the main road near the walls of Terra del Sole. Cross the Medici citadel, take Viale Marconi to return to the entrance to the Baths.
