An itinerary that leads to the Castle of Monte Poggiolo, the extreme Florentine bulwark, open only externally but rich in extreme charm for the breathtaking view of the surrounding area. The departure is recommended from the main square of Terra del Sole. We head towards Forlì and, just after leaving the walls of the Medici citadel, we turn left into Via Cesare Battisti. Follow this street until you come to Via Pianello, on the left, which climbs up the hill. Following the Via Pianello you cross poultry farms, beyond which the road becomes gravel up to the fork for the Pennita. Here you follow, on the left, the dirt road that continues to climb until you reach the ridge road Converselle – Monte Poggiolo, then turn right towards Monte Poggiolo. From Monte Poggiolo we descend along the asphalt road towards the valley bottom. Before reaching the floor, on the right you will find an old rural house, not far from the road that runs, which is called Palazzo del Diavolo. At the junction, at the end of the descent, turn right into Via Mercatina and then follow Via Cesare Battisti until you reach the main road near the walls of Terra del Sole and then the square from which you left.
